SOFEC Awarded Two CALM Buoys for the Dongying Port Refinery

Houston, 22 February 2023 – SOFEC is pleased to announce that it has been awarded an EPC project by the Shandong Minda Logistics Co. for the Dongying Port Refinery Project in Bohai Bay. SOFEC will provide the client with two complete import CALM Buoy systems in 23.5m water depth that will moor crude oil tankers up to 300,000 DWT. Each turntable style CALM Buoy system supports an import flow rate of 9,000m3/hour through a 48” pipeline to the refinery via a booster platform. The Dongying Port Refinery Project is a unique facility that will enable the import of hydrocarbons in the region and SOFEC is excited to supply the first import buoys into China’s Bohai Bay.
